The reflection on our Lenten Reflection calendar this morning is from George Fox’s writings: “Be still and cool in thy own mind and spirit.” This seems to be especially inspired counsel in a time such as ours. (When I created this calendar, I had no idea what we were heading into.)
The longer quote is this:
“Be still and cool in thy own mind and spirit, from thy own thoughts, and then thou wikt feel the principle of God to turn thy mind to the Lord from whence cometh life; whereby thou mayest receive the strength and power to allay all storms and tempests.”
Thank you, George! Claiming it. Today let’s do our best to be still and cool in our mind and spirit, listening for and trusting in the wise and loving, always-present leading of God.
